Florida Representative Greg Steube announced on Thursday his intentions to submit an impeachment resolution against President Joe Biden, citing allegations of “bribery, extortion, obstruction of justice, fraud, and financial involvement in drugs and prostitution.”

Steube’s proposal come amidst the Republican Party’s ongoing investigation into the president’s and his son, Hunter Biden’s, business affairs; with some Republicans labeling recent bank record revelations as damning evidence against the president’s integrity.

“Tomorrow, I intend on filing an impeachment resolution on Joe Biden for bribery, for extortion, obstruction of justice, fraud, financial involvement in drugs and prostitution,” Steube said during his appearance on Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight.
Highlighting the thoroughness of their research, Steube confidently stated, “We have all the facts and evidence now. You have witness testimony, you have financial records, you have the laptop, you have text messages, you have phone conversations.” He continued to emphasize that this evidence fully supports the forthcoming impeachment articles.
Guest host David Harris Jr. then asked Steube, “For all the things you just mentioned—bribery, extortion, obstruction of justice, fraud, financial involvement in drugs and prostitution—and you’re saying you have the receipts? You have the proof? Will these impeachment articles—when will they be released, Congressman?” In response, Steube disclosed plans for a comprehensive press release on Friday detailing their findings.

Furthermore, Steube referred to multiple Republican-led investigations since their ascendancy to the majority—most notably the testimony from Hunter Biden’s past business associate, Devon Archer. Archer conveyed to the House Oversight Committee that, during numerous business calls, Hunter Biden had involved his then-vice president father. However, he vehemently denied any discussions regarding Hunter’s business dealings during these interactions.
Yet, recent bank records insinuate the contrary. Released by the Republican House Oversight Committee leadership, these documents suggest that Biden had direct involvement in his son’s foreign business activities—especially with leaders from countries like Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine—during his vice presidency. This release further alleges that Biden had dined with some of Hunter’s business contacts. The revelations have been met with mixed reactions; while figures such as the House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, view the documents as conclusive proof, others, particularly from the Democratic Party, have dismissed them as mere reiterations of already public information.
“Committee Republicans have once again released information on financial transactions that do not involve the President,” said House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin, a Democrat from the great state of Maryland, in a statement to Newsweek. “Instead, they rehash the same Hunter Biden business dealings that Congressional Republicans identified at least three years ago.
“The evidence released since then—including the testimony of witnesses called and interviewed by the Republicans and the records reviewed as part of Chairman [James] Comer’s probe—have all clearly established that President Biden was not involved in his son’s business dealings.”
